Testimonial from NRAI

The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), appreciated the work of WhyWaste?, in light of World Water Dat with the following testimonial, as posted below.

For celebrating World Water Day, the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI); representing
the interests of over 6,00,000 restaurants, extended its support to the #GlassHalfFull initiative led by
Garvita Gulhati in March, 2019.
97 million people in India do not have access to clean drinking water. Therefore, NRAI is glad to
partner with Why Waste?, an organization aiming to change the mindsets of people towards natural
resources. Through this collaboration, both Why Waste? and NRAI aims to reduce wastage of water
served at restaurants and hope to inspire similar alliances globally to adopt the #GlassHalfFull
movement, a simple yet effective way of saving a lot of water, across the world.
We requested all restaurants to fill the glass of water half full only unless otherwise requested by the
customer. Along with a stream of online and offline activities, lot of members of the NRAI placed
table tops in their restaurants communicating to customers and servers about how they can do their
bit to help conserve water. This campaign was a great success! We would like to congratulate
Garvita for this wonderful initiative as we could prevent over 4million litres of water from being
wasted and reached out to over 2.5 million people over the past year. And we are again planning to
run this campaign on the World Water Day, this year.
Garvita Gulhati is a young and dedicated environmentalist, who is promoting water positivity.
She has been campaigning for over 4 years now through the Glass Half-Full Initiative. Her initiative
aims to make people understand the importance of water resources and how to conserve it.
We truly need more Global Change Makers like Garvita, who are changing the mindsets of the
people on how to manage and save water! We wish her all the very best for her future endeavours!

We are truly grateful for these kind words, and hope to make a bigger difference with time.
